Apartment 1804: Culpepper, Haims and Quinn

Curated by interior designers in partnership with Design Philadelphia, as well as the staging of artwork by InLiquid, five apartments in the East Tower of Park Towne Place Museum District Homes will be transformed into designed interior installations centered upon the theme of "Home."

Located on the 18th floor, each of four staged apartment installations are a designer's unique interpretation of the theme, and the fifth installation is a collaboration between three InLiquid artists: Melissa Maddonni Haims, Donna Quinn, and Constance Culpepper.

Haims, Quinn, and Culpepper's installation examines the common theme of their work collectively: domesticity, personal space and perspective. Each of these three artists shares the conception of "home" as a collection of things (furniture, wallpaper, tableware, etc.) that fill a vacant space before it becomes a home. Whether the home is broken, being put back together, or overly full, the spaces in between these "things" are where we create our lives.

In partnership with Aimco, InLiquid curates rotating exhibitions and organizes engaging public programming at Aimco's mid-century modern complex, Park Towne Place, which offers upscale high-rise living in Center City. InLiquid is also helping to project manage Park Towne’s acquisition of new works for their permanent collection. The arts advisory relationship is part of a redevelopment initiative by Park Towne to become a vital member of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway cultural community.
