29th Annual Juried Exhibition at Cabe Hall Regional Art Center

Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council's (TRAHC) 29th Annual Juried Exhibition celebrates local, regional, and national artists. This year's juror is Lauren Cross, PhD, MFA, Adjunct Professor and Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies Lecturer at University of North Texas, Denton, TX. Dr. Cross is an artist, curator, and scholar living in Fort Worth, Texas. She earned her BA in Art, Design, and Media from Richmond, The American International University in London, England, MFA in Visual Arts from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, and PhD from Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. Her artistic work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and she frequently facilitates curatorial and art projects both in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and beyond.

Cross is the Founder/Curator of non-profit arts organization in Fort Worth, WoCA Projects, and has received many awards for her creative work, including an official selection for the 2010 International Black Women’s Film Festival in Berkeley, CA for her first documentary, The Skin Quilt Project; The Fort Worth Weekly’s Third Annual Visionary Award in 2013; named #32 of 100 Top Dallas Creatives by the Dallas Observer in 2014-2015, and featured in the 2015 Edinburgh Art Festival. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Art Education + Art History at the University of North Texas' College of Visual Arts & Design (CVAD) where she serves as a core faculty member for the Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies program.
